CORE FUNCTIONS
C4ISTAR Branch is responsible for the following core functions:
Participation in the development and co-ordination of Joint Air Power (JAP) related NATO strategic level and transformation policy, doctrine, concepts and publications.
Provision of C4ISTAR Branch input to JAPCC support for the Partnership for Peace Programme (PfP).
Provision of C4ISTAR Branch input to JAPCC support for the NATO/EU relationship.
Development and maintenance of JAPCC relations with external agencies and educational establishments in the field of C4ISTAR expertise.
- Maintenance of the requisite level of knowledge and information to provide C4ISTAR Branch subject matter expertise in the fields of:
Branch Review
C4ISTAR Branch is actively involved in all JAPCC projects and most of JAPCC tasks. The Branch led/leads the NATO Space Operations Assessment, the Battlespace Management Air Forum, the ANAAC C2 Development, the I2KM and the NAEW&C NMT CONEMP and supported/supports the following tasks NFJASP, UAS Flight Plan Update, DRR 11, JAPCC Conference, JAPCC Journal, CONEMP for UAS in NATO, and NATO Joint Air and Space Training and Exercise Roadmap.
C4ISTAR Branch also participates in a variety of Working Groups, Committees, Panels, Development Teams and Workshops subordinated by different NATO Organizations or entities providing Subject Matter Expertise for the transformation of Joint Air & Space Power in NATO.
We currently hold the chairmanship of the Joint ISR Panel and we are subject matter experts in the:
- Joint ISR Task Force
- Joint Capability Group on UAV
- Joint ISR Capability Group
- C3 Capabilities Coherence Sub Committee
- DRR 11 Planning Harmonization Group
- RTA’s Space Working Group
- Deployable Forces CIS Working Group
- Imagery Management Group
- "NATO Information Management Policy" NATO HQ WG
The branch holds the OPR for the NATO School Space Course.
