Joint Air and Space Power Conference 2005
The JAPCC hosted a high-level conference on Air and Space Power matters in November 2005. The theme of the conference was “Keeping NATO Air and Space Power relevant”. The presentations and following discussion panels highlighted key issues of how to meet contemporary operational requirements such as for the NATO Response Force. Longer-term transformational endeavours were addressed in a series of future-oriented complementary panel discussions. There was consensus that air and space power remains very relevant, but that it needs to continue to evolve and transform as a matter of combined and joint efforts.
The bottom line for the JAPCC was that most aspects of the JAPCC programme of work for 2006 are focused in the right areas. Excellent food for thought was provided for new topics, together with thoughts on the relative priorities of current projects and the relevance of the JAPCC as a value-adding NATO air and space power entity.
